Hotels and resorts in Albufeira

Albufeira has the Algarve's deepest hotel and resort market — more than any other municipality, and the competition shows. The properties here cluster along the cliff-top coast between Praia da Falésia and São Rafael, with a secondary concentration around the old town and the Strip. Almost all sit at €€€ or above; this isn't budget territory.

The western cliff corridor is resort country. Pine Cliffs, Kimpton Atlântico, NAU São Rafael Suites, and Grande Real Santa Eulália occupy cliff-edge positions facing south, with direct beach access and the kind of facilities — multiple pools, spas, kids' clubs — that justify the €€€–€€€€ pricing. The trade-off is isolation: old town restaurants are 15–20 minutes by car, and most guests eat on-site.

The Falésia beach zone between Olhos de Água and Vilamoura draws a slightly different crowd. Properties like Falésia Hotel, PortoBay Falésia, and 3HB Guaraná sit above one of the Algarve's longest beaches, with the added advantage of proximity to Vilamoura's marina restaurants to the east.

Central Albufeira's hotel options — Vila Galé Cerro Alagoa near the old town, Hotel Sol e Mar on Pescadores beach — suit travellers who want evening options on foot. The old town is walkable and has genuine restaurants beyond the tourist circuit; the Strip is louder and younger-skewing.

For golf, Albufeira sits between the Vilamoura courses to the east and the Salgados/Amendoeira courses to the west. Pine Cliffs has its own 9-hole cliff-edge course. Most resorts arrange green fees and transfers.
